Spot Me is a diary that stays on your phone. We never see what you write in it, because it never reaches us.
What stays on your phone
Your crushes, their avatars and nicknames, your moments, notes, dares, streaks, Hearts and settings are saved only on your phone, in an encrypted diary behind your secret code.
Spot Me has no accounts and no servers of its own. Nothing in your diary is sent to us or to anyone else.
The diary is kept out of iCloud and Google backups, so it never leaves the phone. Lose the phone and the diary goes with it. Start fresh in Settings erases it for good.
What Spot Me never has
No real photos, no places, no times you were at the gym, no contacts. Spot Me never asks where you are.
No advertising, no analytics tools and no third-party code that sends anything about you anywhere.
Face ID and your code
Face ID is handled by your phone. Spot Me only learns whether it worked, and your face never leaves your phone. Your secret code is stored as a scrambled hash on your phone, never as the code itself.
Reminders
Nudges are made and shown on your phone. Spot Me has no push server, and a reminder never names a crush.
Sharing
A share image is only made when you tap Share, and only goes where you send it. It shows nicknames and counts, never real names or notes.
Purchases
Hearts are bought through the App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google handle the payment under their own privacy policies. Spot Me only learns that a purchase went through, never who you are or how you paid. Your Hearts and items are saved on your phone.
Crash reports
If you've chosen to share app analytics with Apple or Google in your phone's settings, they may send us anonymous crash reports. These hold technical details about the crash, never anything from your diary.
Getting in touch
If you email us, we use your message only to reply to you, and we don't keep it longer than we need to help.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version goes on this page with a new date. Spot Me will never start sending your diary anywhere.
